How much involvement will I have in the design process?
We pride ourselves on developing close working relationships with our clients. You are the key to unlocking great results from us. By meeting with you, either in person or over the phone or web, we will learn about your business and your needs. Most importantly we listen to you. We research your business, product and/or service. We work collaboratively with you to ensure we meet your brief and wow you with our finished product.
Will I be updated regularly on the progress of my job?
From the initial concept stages through the approval process of your job you will be kept informed of our progress. In some cases we use collaborative software that enables you to login and see what has been done and what stage we are up to with your job. Some jobs will require a lot of communication back and forth, while others may not. When we start working with you we will discuss the frequency and type of communication that will be needed throughout the project.
Who owns the copyright for work that you do for me?
Once final payment for your job has been made, the copyright of your material belongs to you. We do, however, reserve the right to use the design or material for our own promotional purposes.
In what format do you supply completed design jobs?
We will always ask how you will be using your finished design piece to ensure it is provided in the correct format. A logo design, for example, will be used across many different mediums and thereby will need to be provided in different formats to suit such as:
• Web – jpeg, png, gif, swf
• Print – eps, psd, tiff, pdf
What is the difference between designing for print and web?
The difference comes down to the quality of the resolution of the design format. Creating a design that is print ready needs to be in a higher resolution format. These are usually designed in CMYK format that suits the four colour printing process. A design for use on the web is provided using a much lower resolution format. Graphics viewed on a computer screen are designed using the RGB colour format or hex colours. These files are small and able to be downloaded and viewed very quickly in a website. A web design file should never be printed as the result would not look high enough quality.
I want a new logo designed. What is your process?
Building a strong brand and logo is one of the most important aspects of any business. The first step in the process is to speak with you about your business, your products and services, your goals, and your values. We will take on board any suggestions or ideas you have in relation to an image or symbol to represent your business. We will then start the creative process and design a strong and memorable logo that does your business justice. We will provide up to 2 concepts and then work on your chosen concept until you are happy with the result.
The Design Brief. We listen.
It sounds simple but we really do it. We listen to you. You get our undivided attention so that we can understand your business and provide you with a strategic creative plan of action. Compiled from a Q & A session either on phone, email or skype, we develop a design brief, which ultimately saves everyone time. It helps focus attention on the details that best cater to the target audience, and in as timely a manner as possible.
Research. Explore.
Here we brainstorm ideas that best translate your business and product to its best advantage. Our superior problem-solving skills mean we quickly grasp complex information and rapidly provide a creative solution. Sketching helps generate a strong set of possible directions. Most sketches will eventually be made redundant, but the point here is to explore every possible direction before offering you the most effective idea.
Conceptualise. Create. Refine.
After narrowing the design focus, one to two concepts will be offered for review. Because we spend so much time developing and understanding your needs in the first instance, our work normally only needs one to two minor reviews until the final creative is approved, but this will be refined until you are happy.
Finalise.Customer Service Guaranteed.
Final artwork is prepared to commercial standards and sent to you and your nominated suppliers if required, eg. Printer, Signwriter, Screen Printer etc. You can have peace of mind that we don’t stop when your project does. Should any design-related questions crop up, we are always on hand to answer them or offer design assistance in whatever way is possible.
I have an urgent job. Are you able to help me with this?
We will always do our best to accommodate any of our clients – even with rush jobs. However, you must understand that a good and successful piece of design work does not happen in an instant. We respect your business too much to provide you with anything but the best. In urgent cases, we do our utmost to turn around your job as quickly as possible. Additional costs may be involved if our workflow for other clients in interrupted. This will be discussed with you on a case by case basis.
What if I decide to cancel a design job once it is underway?
In the event of termination, a cancellation fee of 20% of total invoice and shall be paid to iCreate Solutions. If a job is cancelled during the design process you will be charged for the hours of work completed. If you have been quoted a fixed price for your job, the deposit payment will be retained for all work completed. Should you cancel a job and the design work has already been finished, you will be expected to pay the full amount quoted.
